Entering December
December 1 marks the anniversary of the first public film screening in Japan (1896) — a historic day celebrating the birth of Japanese cinema. On this day, the film industry often hosts events and campaigns to honor the growth of film culture in Japan. Movies are not only a form of art and entertainment but also a powerful medium to share emotions, values, and social messages. By the way, the most recent movie that deeply moved me was “Go! Anpanman: Baikinman and the Picture Book of Lulun.” December 1 is also known as the meteorological start of winter. As the cold season begins, it’s time to prepare heating systems, winter clothing, and home maintenance. Please take good care of your health. Our office, SIMCITY, will be closed from December 28 to January 3 for the New Year holidays. We sincerely appreciate your understanding and continued support.
Starting Tomorrow, It’s December 🎬❄️
December 1 marks the Anniversary of the First Public Film Screening in Japan (1896). This day celebrates the historical moment when cinema culture first arrived in Japan and is recognized by the film industry as a day to honor the development of film — often celebrated through events and special campaigns. Movies are not only a form of art and culture but also a powerful medium for entertainment and social messages that inspire people around the world. By the way, the most touching film I’ve seen recently is “Go! Anpanman: Baikinman and the Picture Book of Lulun.” 🎥💖 December 1 is also considered the meteorological beginning of winter. Unlike the astronomical winter solstice, this date divides the year evenly into four seasons. Many countries recognize this day as the time to prepare for the coming cold — checking heating, winter clothing, and home maintenance. As the chill of winter deepens, please take care and stay warm. Our company, SIMCITY, will be closed from December 28 to January 3. Thank you for your kind understanding and continued support.
🗓 Tomorrow is Anti-Aging Day!
This day was established by the Japan Society for Anti-Aging Medicine, as “11/14” sounds like “good age” in Japanese. Anti-aging means making lifestyle choices that slow down physical and mental aging — staying youthful, energetic, and healthy regardless of age. It’s not just about looking young, but also about maintaining internal health and overall vitality. 💡 The key to good anti-aging is improving your daily habits. Keep these points in mind to age gracefully and stay young at heart! 1️⃣ Balanced Nutrition Eat foods rich in antioxidants (Vitamin C, E, polyphenols) to protect cells and slow aging. Get enough protein (meat, fish, beans, eggs) to maintain muscle and skin elasticity. Include omega-3 fatty acids (salmon, chia seeds, flaxseed oil) for healthy skin and blood flow. 2️⃣ Regular Exercise Aerobic exercise (walking, jogging, cycling) boosts blood circulation and metabolism. Strength training maintains muscle mass and bone density. Yoga and stretching improve flexibility and posture. 3️⃣ Quality Sleep Aim for 7–8 hours of sleep; growth hormones help repair cells. Avoid screens before bed and create a calm, relaxing environment. 4️⃣ Stress Management Practice mindfulness, meditation, or hobbies to reduce stress. Regular relaxation helps slow aging caused by mental strain. 5️⃣ Skincare &…
Anti-Aging Day (November 14th)
Tomorrow, November 14th, is “Anti-Aging Day”, established by the Japan Society of Anti-Aging Medicine. The date comes from the Japanese wordplay “ii (11) toshi (14)”, which means “good age.” Anti-aging refers to efforts to slow down physical and mental aging and maintain youthful vitality throughout life. It’s not just about appearance—it’s about keeping both mind and body healthy, regardless of age. 🥗 1. Balanced Nutrition Antioxidants (Vitamin C, Vitamin E, polyphenols) help prevent cell oxidation and slow aging. Fruits, vegetables, nuts, green tea, and red wine are excellent sources. Protein (meat, fish, beans, eggs) supports muscles and skin elasticity. Omega-3 fatty acids (salmon, chia seeds, flaxseed oil) help maintain heart and skin health. 🏃♀️ 2. Regular Exercise Aerobic exercise (walking, jogging, cycling) improves circulation and metabolism. Strength training maintains muscle mass and bone density. Flexibility and balance training (yoga, stretching) promotes posture and joint health. 😴 3. Quality Sleep Aim for 7–8 hours of sleep (though we know it’s tough!). Growth hormone secretion promotes cell repair. Avoid screens before bed and create a relaxing bedtime routine. 🧘 4. Stress Management Practice mindfulness, meditation, or deep breathing to reduce stress and its aging effects. Take time to relax regularly—it’s essential for…
Respect for the Aged Day
Yesterday, the third Monday of September, was “Respect for the Aged Day” in Japan — a day to honor and express gratitude to the elderly who have contributed to society over the years. How did everyone spend the day? In my family, we took our child to visit their grandmother to express our appreciation and gratitude. It’s something so simple yet so profound — every child has parents, and each of those parents has their own parents, and so on… That alone means one life is supported by the connections of at least fourteen people. Lately, it feels like the value of life — this precious, irreplaceable connection — is being forgotten. How can we convey the importance of life to the next generation? That may be one of the most important challenges we face today. Perhaps, it all begins with how we teach and nurture values in our children.
Yesterday Was Respect for the Aged Day
Yesterday, the third Monday of September, was Respect for the Aged Day in Japan. It’s a day to honor and thank our elders who have contributed to society for so many years. How did you spend the day? In my family, we took our children to visit their grandmother to express our gratitude in person. It may sound obvious, but every child has parents, each of whom also has their own parents — and they, too, had parents before them. That means even one life is connected through fourteen people or more — a chain of precious existence. Lately, I feel that the value of such precious life tends to be taken lightly. How can we better communicate the importance and irreplaceable value of life to others? That may be one of the challenges of our time. Perhaps there’s much to reconsider — starting with how we teach and nurture the next generation.
9.11
Tomorrow reminds us of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks in the United States, which targeted the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. Nearly 3,000 people lost their lives in this tragedy, which sent shockwaves around the world. September 11 has become a day to honor the victims and reflect on counterterrorism efforts and international peace. Beyond the loss of innocent lives, it also had a profound impact on global security, anti-terrorism measures, and foreign policy. Every year on this day, we remember the victims and think about what we can do for peace — how we should face terrorism and violence, and how to prevent such tragedies from ever happening again. Remembering the past is essential to building a safer future. I hope this day inspires us all to think deeply about peace and security.

September 6
Tomorrow, September 6, marks the anniversary of the Hokkaido Eastern Iburi Earthquake that struck in 2018. This powerful earthquake, centered in the eastern part of the Iburi region in Hokkaido, recorded a maximum seismic intensity of 7, causing the deaths of 41 people and injuring more than 600. It also triggered Japan’s first-ever nationwide blackout across all of Hokkaido. Landslides and power outages occurred over a wide area, resulting in significant human and infrastructure damage. This disaster reminded everyone in Japan of the vital importance of disaster prevention and preparedness. Natural disasters can happen anytime, anywhere — please make sure to stay prepared and review your emergency supplies regularly.
